Yukon Council on Aging believes that adults who continue learning into their later years are happier and healthier.
Learning keeps the mind active and engaged, fuels curiosity and creativity and strengthens self-esteem and independence. An active mind supports physical health and mental well-being. Our Learning for Life Program provides informative, engaging opportunities for Yukoners aged 55+ through learning events related to a wide variety of topics. Each year, the topics vary depending on suggestions by the participants and YOCA members. Events are advertised through emails to members from YCOA, posters at various centres, and notices placed in radio and the newspapers or by contacting the office. Topics in 2023 included Chair Yoga, Advance Care Directives, Small Space Gardening, What is the Yukon Legal Public Education Association, Wills and Estate Planning, and Decluttering Your Space. Come and join us at upcoming Learning Events. Experience learning for life; stay informed, connected and engaged! |
